View Full Version : Beckford to Bolton?
I have recently been hearing of the rumour of Jermain Becford being linked with a move to Bolton Wanderers. I have watched Beckford over the last couple of seasons for Leeds and have been very impressed.
In the last couple of seasons he has ripped League 1 apart.
Would he be able to handle the switch to the PremierLeague?
Would he be able to adapt to Bolton's style of play?

Personally i dont think beckford has the quality to a premiership striker at the moment. He is a very good league one striker and scores alot of goals, however i very much doubt he would fit into the bolton squad well.
The premiership is a massive step up from the championship in terms of quality and has rarely seen strikers adapt after being in the championship let alone league one. Nugent and sweeney from birmingham come to mind who all scored massive amounts of goals at championship level but failed to emulate that success at premiership level.

I agree with sufc If he was that good why is is still in League 1? I mean at the very least a Championship side would snap him up, but the Premiership is the biggest league in the world, I dont think he could handle it.

I have not seen lots of Beckford, but he does look the real deal.
Also, as a wolves fan, I have, over the last two years watched Michael Khightly come from Grays Athletic for £25,000 and develop into an England under 21 star. Soon to come back from injury and many think he will make it in the prem.
So it can be done..........
